Athletics

At Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, athletics bring our community to life and give students the chance to shine both on and off the court. As proud members of the Catholic Sports League of San Diego, our Phantoms compete in football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball, embracing every opportunity to grow in skill, teamwork, and spirit. Guided by our first pillar, Faith Above All, our athletes play with heart and purpose—giving glory to God in every game and showing gratitude whether in victory or defeat.

Our sports program also reflects Others Before Self, as students learn the true meaning of sportsmanship—lifting up their teammates, respecting their opponents, and representing OLG with pride and integrity. At the same time, they embody Excellence in Learning by setting goals, working hard, and challenging themselves to achieve their best. More than just games, athletics at OLG inspire confidence, build leadership, and create lifelong memories rooted in faith, friendship, and excellence. Go Phantoms!

Parent Code of Conduct

Our Lady of Grace School recognizes parents and guardians as essential partners in each student’s growth and success. Together, we strive to create an environment rooted in our Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs), where students develop character, teamwork, and a love for healthy competition. We ask that all parents support these values and model the spirit of respect, encouragement, and sportsmanship that we hope to instill in our students.

As a member of the OLG community, parents are asked to:

  • Encourage and support your child’s participation and enjoyment on the field or court.

  • Model and promote good sportsmanship, respect, and self-discipline through your words and actions.

  • Offer positive support for the coach and the entire team.

  • Show respect for officials and their role in the game, accepting their decisions with grace.

  • Become familiar with the basic rules and spirit of the game.

  • Follow the rules, policies, and procedures established by the team and the CSLSD.

  • Address any concerns regarding your child by arranging a conversation with the coach at a mutually convenient time. To ensure a respectful and productive conversation, please avoid discussing concerns directly before, during, or immediately after a game. If further support is needed, parents may schedule a meeting with the OLG Athletic Coordinator.

Together, we can ensure that our athletic programs remain a positive and enriching experience for all students.
