Religion
At Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, faith is at the center of everything we do. Our Catholic Religion program, aligned with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, nurtures students in both heart and mind—guiding them to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.
Our Religion program is at the heart of all we do. Rooted in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the teachings of the Magisterium, our K–8 curriculum nurtures the spiritual, moral, and intellectual formation of each student. Through daily instruction, prayer, and reflection, students are invited into a deeper relationship with Christ and a vibrant understanding of their Catholic faith.
In Grades K–2, students are introduced to the love of God, the life of Jesus, basic prayers, and the foundational teachings of the Church. They learn about creation, God’s family, and how to live as children of God through kindness, forgiveness, and service.
In Grades 3–5, students explore the Sacraments, the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the liturgical seasons in greater depth. They begin to understand the moral teachings of the Church, study the lives of saints, and reflect on their own call to discipleship. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist is incorporated as part of their formation in the parish and school community.
In Grades 6–8, students engage in deeper theological inquiry and moral reasoning. Topics include Salvation History, the structure and mission of the Church, Catholic Social Teaching, vocations, and the role of the laity in the modern world. Students are encouraged to apply their faith to contemporary issues and develop a strong Catholic identity grounded in service, justice, and truth.
Across all grade levels, our program emphasizes active participation in the Mass, daily prayer, Scripture reflection, and service to others. Students are formed not only in knowledge of the faith, but in virtues that inspire them to live as Christ-centered servant leaders in the world today.
