Physical Education

At Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, we inspire students to lead active, healthy lives through our dynamic Physical Education program.

Our Physical Education program promotes lifelong health, fitness, and well-being for every student. Aligned with the California Physical Education Content Standards, our K–8 curriculum develops fundamental movement skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.

In Grades K–2, students build coordination, balance, and basic motor skills through fun, age-appropriate activities and games. They learn the importance of moving their bodies, playing cooperatively, and following rules in a safe and supportive environment.

In Grades 3–5, students refine their physical skills and begin to explore more structured sports and fitness activities. Emphasis is placed on cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, strength, and body awareness, alongside teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal goal setting.

In Grades 6–8, students engage in more complex movement patterns, fitness routines, and team sports. They develop knowledge of health-related fitness concepts, strategies for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and leadership skills through peer collaboration and goal-oriented challenges.

Throughout all grade levels, our program fosters confidence, respect, and a positive mindset, inspiring students to embrace physical activity as an essential part of a balanced, healthy life.
