or through our used uniform sale.
Financial Aid
OLG does not provide aid or scholarship programs. Our tuition remains at the lowest rate possible through fundraising efforts and the generosity of our parish. A significant sibling/multi-child discount is offered.
Mass & Sacraments
Students attend the Parish 8am weekday Mass on the first Friday of each month, every Friday throughout Advent and Lent, and as a class on one designated day per month. The school attends, on average, one prayer service per month. These schoolwide prayer services are planned and hosted by each class, beginning the 2nd Grade year. Reconciliation is made in Church by grades 3-8 monthly. Students in Grade 2 prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist both in class and at home.
Faculty
All OLG teachers are Catholic and hold a California Teaching Credential, many with specialty degrees. Grades K – 2 have a classroom aide.
Hot Lunch
We contract with the local high school district to bring in lunch daily for those students who have pre-ordered. Multiple day tickets may be pre-purchased at a discounted rate.
Volunteer Service
Each family with a child in Grades 1-8 is required to perform service hours. Our school continues to be exceptional because parents typically go above and beyond their commitment. Volunteering is a great way to meet the students and parents, and there are many opportunities to help. At home and weekend tasks are available as well. The hours required are 30 for 1 child, 45 for 2 children, and 60 for 3 or more children.
Computer
All students attend class in the Computer Lab once per week to learn Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as practicing keyboarding skills. OLG stays up-to-date with technology and internet security through our support and maintenance contract with our service provider.
Physical Education and Extra-Curricular Sports
All grades attend two physical education classes per week with an instructor, focusing on fitness and sportsmanship. OLG participates in the Catholic Sports League, fielding teams in Soccer for grades K-8, Girls Volleyball and Basketball in Grades 5-8, and Boys Basketball and Flag Football in Grades 5-8. This is an extra-curricular option, after school hours.
Art
Grades 1-6 attend Art Studio once per week with an instructor. Emphasis is placed on technique, and curriculum is planned to complement the course of study in each grade level.
Fundraising
As with all schools, fundraising is necessary to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education. OLG sponsors three major fundraisers, a Magazine Drive, Golf Tournament, and Spring Gala. The Magazine Drive is the only mandatory fundraising commitment. We also encourage our families to actively participate in the Gift Certificate program, which provides revenue for enhancements to the facilities and curriculum.
