REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Our Lady of Grace School is a Catholic Parish School (Kindergarten through Grade 8) which serves students of the parish as our first priority. Our purpose is to support parents in their role as primary educators of the child. The curriculum integrates Christ's teachings into the overall academic excellence of the program.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Fill out the Student Application Form completely.
2. Return form to the school office. This will place your
child(ren)'s name on the applicant list and ensure that your family receives communication about upcoming admission events.
3. Families will be contacted for student's screening time and date in the spring. The screening notification letter will request a $25 test fee. Tests will not be processed if prior school performance records are not submitted.
4. After your child(ren)'s placement test has been assessed, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment with the principal. All new families interview with the principal and then the pastor.
5. Families will be notified regarding acceptance, usually within three weeks.
6. If a student is placed on a waiting list because of lack of space, their name will be automatically kept for the following school year if room has not become available during the course of the current school year.
7. Kindergarten applicants must be five years old and first grade applicants must be six years old by Sept. 1st.
ACCEPTANCE PRIORITIES:
All incoming students are academically and developmentally tested and will, upon satisfactory performance, be admitted as follows:
Priority 1: Siblings of children already enrolled in OLG School.
Priority 2: Students whose families are registered and active attending parishioners of Our Lady of Grace as verified by the use of Church envelopes for which no mandatory minimum contribution is expected, and whose families submit the registration by the required dates.
Priority 3: If room is available, transferring Catholic School students whose parish of residence is Our Lady of Grace and who previously attended another Catholic school.
Priority 4: If room is available, transferring Parish students who previously attended public school.
Priority 5: If room is available, Catholic students from outside of the parish whose families will support the school.
Priority 6: If room is available, other students who by their behavior and attitude demonstrate an acceptance of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic School philosophy will be admitted.
